The countdown is finally done. JS, among others including his brother and DY, are riding 180 miles from Houston to Austin this weekend to raise money for the National MS Society. They are expecting 13,000 riders, but with this stormy weather, many may drop out. The plan is to bike from Houston to La Grange on Saturday, camp overnight, then finish the 80 miles to Austin on Sunday. Saturday will be difficult with the rain (hail is beating against my window right now as I type this), and Sunday will come with its own challenge in the form of hills.
I am praying for everyone’s health and safety, and I urge you to pray for the ride too.. Eight of us are going up to Austin to meet them at the finish line. Should be an inspiring once-in-a-lifetime experience for JS. Good luck, and God speed.
pretty nasty outside! hopefully it clears up nicely prior to the ride.
I hope John and others aren’t too disappointed that today is canceled and starts from La Grange tomorrow… it’s safer that way… it is beyond nasty rain right now!!
congrats to the john and the riders. yesterday was awesome weather to finish out the race!
